Founder's BIO
Emir Ali Enç, the son of two career diplomats, initially aimed to join the Turkish Foreign Service, benefiting from an extensive education in history, culture, and languages, mastering Turkish, English, French, Arabic, Persian, Latin, Middle-Persian, and Ottoman Turkish. His passion for cooking led him to discover the historical craftsmanship of copper cookware from Turkey, the Middle East, and the Balkans—regions with a 4,500-year-old tradition overlooked by the modern market dominated by European brands. This realization inspired Emir to shift his path; he trained as a coppersmith, gathered a team of skilled artisans, and established a workshop in Istanbul, founding what is now Soy.
