The Soy MT16 and MT20 Mussel Kettles are the ideal tool to fix perfectly well a number of Mussel dishes, such as the "Moules Marinières" of Belgium / Flanders, the Moules au Safran of Lille / Rijsel, Moules à la Provençale or even the Midye Dolma of Western Turkey.

The main body is formed from thick 2.0mm Solid Copper to ensure even heat distribution, finely hammered until the smallest edge, giving the product extreme hardness, with no dead angles thanks to round corners.

The lid is actually a 16cm or 20cm Sahan that has corners hammered down to fit perfectly the Mussel Pot, keeping and revolving the steam in while cooking due to its concave shape.

The way to use the pot is to flip the lid on the table while eating as a container for the shells.

They are as good for the professional as well as the enthusiast, and many restaurants around the World cook and serve with it directly on the table.

The product is a real showstopper when arriving at the table.

Two sizes are available:

-MT16: 16cm - 1 to 2 servings

-MT20: 20cm - 3 to 4 servings

All work is entirely done by hand and hammer cold-forging. No press is involved.

The current Soy Handles are of our own patented Sand-Cast Solid Bronze, painstakingly filed by hand by our artisans that come from Jeweler backgrounds, and will basically last a lifetime.

They are mounted on the main body with 12 rivets each made of Solid White Copper and are extremely sturdy, but easily removable by us if maintenance is needed.

The alloy of bronze we use (the Soyactite) was developed in-house in 2012, is highly unlike our Western-European counterparts, who mostly use a very conductive alloy of brass or aluminium bronze whereas ours remains a very hard and refractory alloy, that has 5 x the performance of cast iron.

The alloy of bronze we use is made in-house from our own scrap that we recycle, and unlike our Western-European counterparts, conductive alloy of brass or aluminum bronze, ours remains a very hard and refractive alloy.

Each professional item we craft also comes with a hand stamped serial number, we will know, even in the far future when the product was crafted, and to whom it was sold, as we follow every single product on our corporate software.

Care
  • Given the nature of the metal, both copper and silver will change color and tarnish as they get used & upon contact with air, water, and acidic ingredients.
  •  This is totally normal and doesn't affect cooking properties.
  • They are still safe to use and there is no health risks.
  • If you want to get them back to their original state, just rub your Soy with a lemon sliced in half, covered with table salt or baking soda.
  • Rinse it with warm water, dry it and voila!
  • As with cart-iron skillets, a light coating of oil before storing protects it over time.
  • This method works on both copper and silver.
  • You can also clean your Soy with ashes (cigarette ash, fireplace ash, etc.).You can also always use food-safe silver polish.
  • We recommend brands like Hagerty or Goddard's.
  • Please watch our video on how to clean your Soy products:
